The Sandra K. Abell Conversations of College Science Teaching is pleased to welcome Drs. Sarah Bush and Dorina Kosztin as they lead a discussion about a new tool to evaluate STEM teaching. FREE PIZZA!
Faculty across STEM disciplines are being urged to adopt research-based teaching practices with demonstrated effectiveness in improving student learning. A challenge in achieving and quantifying change, however, is that teaching practices are poorly documented and largely unmeasured. We will present a new approach for obtaining broad (e.g. department-wide) data on teaching practices. We will have an opportunity to test the tool during this session.
Please bring a laptop computer and a syllabus from one of your courses. If you do not have access to a laptop, contact Sarah Bush in advance (bushSL@missouri.edu) and we will check out a laptop from the biology department.
