Speaker(s) Information

Professor of Physics and Astronomy Linda Godwin

Linda Godwin’s educational path opened a door to her career at NASA, one she never envisioned as a child growing up. She will share her experiences and impressions from four shuttle missions, including visits to two space stations. Learn how the microgravity in a free-fall orbit provides unique opportunities for science as well as observations of our home planet and beyond. Godwin, MS '76, PhD '80 physics, will also tell how the International Space Station brings together many nations and cultures for the benefit of the planet, and she'll touch on how NASA’s current plans for exploration and enabling private space opportunities are important to continuing our position as a leader in space exploration.
