The CAFNR Research Council (CRC) is an advisory body for the CAFNR Office of Research, created to implement the CAFNR Strategic Plan and Drive CAFNR research enterprise to Distinction. Webinars are held throughout the year to touch on timely research topics. 

The next webinar will feature Pavel Somavat, assistant professor with a joint appointment in the Division of Food, Nutrition & Exercise Sciences and the Department of Chemical & Biomedical Engineering, speaking on “Leveraging the US Corn Ecosystem for Producing Natural Food Colorants and Value-added Bioactive Compounds.”

His research interests are multi-disciplinary and include extraction optimization of anthocyanins and polyphenolic compounds from pigmented corn varieties and utilizing them for novel, value-added applications.
