Focus on Africa will take place in Memorial Union room North 214 C on the campus of the University of Missouri. You are cordially invited to attend a presentation and discussion event. For the 7th year in a row, we are continuing with the theme of FOCUS ON AFRICA.
The purpose of the discussion is to encourage scholars with international interests to meet each other, stimulate each other’s thinking, and potentially lead to the creation of a broader research network and joint scholarship.Topics across the year are chosen to highlight the intersection among multiple disciplinary perspectives with a common geographical focus.

Our speakers will be:
Dr. Adaobi Anakwe, is a Post Doctoral Fellow School of Health Profession/Health Sciences. Presentation title: Through his eyes: A qualitative exploration of Black fatherhood in a pandemic and implications for mental well being.
Keli Cheng is currently pursuing her PhD degree in computer science at the University of Missouri and
Justin Krohn is a Research Project Analyst at the Center for Applied Research and Engagement Systems (CARES) and a geoinformatics PhD student at the MU Institute for Data Science & Informatics.
Together Keli & Justin will co-present their research Applications of Deep Learning for the Community Health Assessment Mapping Project in Massailand, Tanzania”
