Focus on Africa Research Presentations will take place in Memorial Union room S203 on the campus of the University of Missouri. You are cordially invited to attend a presentation and discussion event.
Our guest speaker will be Dr. Oye Ideki Currently Dr Ideki is a visiting scientist in the Atmospheric Sciences program, School of Natural Resources, University of Missouri, Columbia MO USA under the mentorship of Prof Tony Lupo where he is working on the interconnection between sea surface temperature and rainfall intensities in the Gulf of Guinea.
 
The titleof his presentation: "Extreme rainfall and flooding in Africa"
 
For the 7th year in a row, we are continuing with the theme of FOCUS ON AFRICA. The purpose of the discussion is to encourage scholars with international interests to meet each other, stimulate each other’s thinking, and potentially lead to the creation of a broader research network and joint scholarship. Topics across the year are chosen to highlight the intersection among multiple disciplinary perspectives with a common geographical focus.
