A Biopsychosocial Model of Gendered Racism and Black Women’s Health

Presented by Dr. Jioni A. Lewis, Associate Professor, University of Maryland, College Park

 

The purpose of this presentation is to apply intersectionality to investigate the influence of racism and sexism on Black women’s health. Dr. Lewis will describe the concepts of gendered racism and racial microaggressions and their impact and present a biopsychosocial model of gendered racism. Learn how to engage in strategies for radical healing at the individual, community, and systems-level, as well as develop systemic interventions to disrupt gendered racism in society.
