Heart of MO Regional Professional Development Center (RPDC) – Introducing The Next Step in the MLDS Continuum: DEVELOPING

The Missouri Leadership Development System (MLDS) is designed to develop and support effective school leaders from aspiring to retiring. More than 625 Missouri building-level leaders are currently engaged in the MLDS series of practical learning experiences. The Developing-Level Preview builds on learning acquired at the Emerging level and is tailored to address the needs of advancing educational leaders. RPDC is offering three preview sessions, from which you can choose a morning session or and afternoon session:

 

Wednesday, February 14
Managing Change and Getting the Right People on the Bus (designed for leaders past their third year of leadership)

The Developing-Level Preview is tailored to address the needs of advancing educational leaders. Participants will learn strategies for the designing and leading change while exploring techniques for managing organizational energy for change. In addition, participants will learn techniques for attracting and retaining teaching talent.

Wednesday, February 28
Implementation Dips and Content Shifts! (designed for early to mid-career leaders in their 3rd-10th year of leadership)

Participants will understand the concept of an implementation dip so that they can plan for it when leading change processes. Participants will also develop and practice interpersonal communication skills including the ability to navigate a content shift.

Wednesday, March 21
Developing Habits and Organized Abandonment (designed to develop and support effective school leaders from aspiring to retiring; early or mid career leaders in their 3rd-10th year of leadership)

Participants will learn and apply the four elements of developing personal and organizational habits. Participants will also explore the process for organizational abandonment in an effort to provide school improvement momentum.
