A little more about Lewis and Carla:
- Lewis Raven Wallace is a co-director and co-founder of Press On, a Southern movement journalism collective. He previously worked for public radio’s Marketplace and at other public radio outlets. He has written the book The View from Somewhere about the history of journalistic “objectivity” and how it has been used to uphold the status quo and exclude voices from oppressed communities. He’s white, transgender, and goes by he, they or ze, and is based in North Carolina.
- Carla is a 2020-2021 visiting fellow in Boston College’s journalism program teaching about 'class' and economic inequality, and currently consults with Democracy Fund.
