We are excited to welcome Marc Canellas back to the Mizzou campus for a thought-provoking presentation about AI, democracy and our future. Canellas earned a mechanical engineering degree from Mizzou in 2012 and was an active student in the Honors College. He is a proud public defender, engineer and policy advocate, and currently serves as an assistant public defender (forensic division) for the Maryland Office of the Public Defender. Canellas has experience working on, legislating and litigating AI, so the conversation will be an enlightening one. His visit is sponsored by the Honors College and the Office of the Provost.
