Join us for “Conservation and divergence of sex dimorphism in gene expression and splicing in Drosophila" a keynote presentation by Dr. Lauren McIntyre, College of Arts & Science – Biological Sciences, MizzouForward faculty candidate.  Dr. McIntyre will present on her research for approximately 40-minutes with a 20-minute question and answer session to follow.

Dr. Lauren McIntyre is a professor in the department of Molecular Genetics and Microbiology at the University of Florida, Gainesville.  She currently serves as the Editor-in-Chief for Genes|Genomes|Genetics.  Dr. McIntyre completed a B.A. in Biomathematics from Douglass College, Rutgers University, M. Stat in Statistics and Ph.D. in Genetics/Statistics from North Carolina State University.

Dr. McIntyre uses a systems genetics approach to understand the genotype to phenotype map for complex traits.  She has developed methods for identifying genetic regulation of gene expression.  She collaborates broadly with discipline experts in many different organisms but have specific expertise in Drosophila and Maize.  Her future research goals include integrating metabolomic data with gene expression data and understanding genetic regulation of RNA splicing.
