WHAT:

The University of Missouri will host its annual Spring Safety Fair where students can learn how to secure their residence and stay safe over spring break.

Tips from MUPD:

  • While gone, lock doors and windows, and stop mail.
  • While traveling, secure important documents and don’t carry them. Also, individuals should not carry large amounts of cash and monitor their alcohol intake.

Tips from the MU Sustainability Office

  • Unplug electronics that are not in use such as coffee pots, hair dryers and toasters.
  • Turn the air conditioning up and the heat down.
  • Pack reusable items rather than disposable ones, such as food containers, travel mugs, water bottles and razors.
  • Purchase and use light timers to control when lights at your home turn on and off.
