About this Event
Consolidating Cost Data using the Observational Medical Outcomes Partnership Common Data Model (OMOP CDM)
This presentation will detail the integration of Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) cost data into the GROUSE platform through the Observational Medical Outcomes Partnership (OMOP) Common Data Model (CDM). The process involves mapping CMS data tables (PDE, MEDPAR, BCARRIER/DME, HOSPICE/HHA, and OUTPATIENT) to the OMOP CDM's COST table, creating temporary staging tables, and populating the final COST table using SQL scripts. For GPC Data, the resulting unified cost table contains around 8.9 billion records, encompassing CMS data between 2011 and 2020. The table will simplify cost analysis of all manners moving forward and will streamline model building that uses COST as an input.
