About this Event
Identify key components of the Notice of Grant Award (NGA). Understand various sponsor requirements effective upon acceptance including but not limited to financial conflict of interest, responsible conduct of research and public access obligations. Discuss implications of accepting certain terms or clauses including but not limited to those concerning publication rights and ownership of equipment. Explore terms and conditions the university may not be able to agree to and other common challenges that could delay acceptance of an award. Review the process to establish an award in the PeopleSoft Grants Module. Utilizing case studies, analyze NGAs, comparing proposal documents and sponsor guidelines to award terms and conditions.

This class is part of the pre-award track of the Certificate Series for Specialized Grants Training offered by MU's Sponsored Programs Administration for University of Missouri System staff. Classes in the series cover key topics using a combination of teaching methods, including lectures, case studies and hands-on computer training. Roles and responsibilities of project personnel, department research administrators and Sponsored Programs Administration staff are described throughout each course.
