Join us for a seminar from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday September 4, 2025, in S203 Memorial Union, as Elisa McAtee discusses the work of avant-garde artist Theresa Hak Kyung Cha (1951–1982), focusing on her groundbreaking book Dictée and its use of religious ritual as historical critique. The lecture will also cover her works Apparatus and Exilée/Temps Morts, and conclude with a discussion of Dictée’s reception in the U.S. and South Korea, including responses from Cha’s family and renewed contemporary interest. Don't miss this opportunity to learn about one of the most important voices in Asian American literature and art.
