Capoeira—"Some people call it the dance fight” A look into the rich history and culture of the African Brazilian Martial Art of Capoeira.

Sonia Duncombe Director of the Grupo Axe Capoeira Kansas City School will give presentation about capoeira and then the instructors and students will perform. Eighteen students and three instructors will travel from Kansas City to Columbia. Next participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and the audience will be invited to join the dance and learn Capoeira moves. MU students are invited to participate and learn about Capoeira & African Brazilian music, life and culture. The group will perform West African Music mixed with exciting African Brazilian Martial Arts moves. Everyone is welcome to particpate.
The event is free and opened to the public.
