In his October 12 talk at the Kinder Institute, Colgate University Assistant Professor of Political Science Sam Rosenfeld will pull back the curtain on the current dysfunction in D.C., laying out the argument he makes in his new book, The Polarizers, that the toxic partisanship that plagues contemporary politics was not the product of gradual structural shifts but instead of deliberate efforts by postwar activists to strengthen the party system and match ideology to party label. The talk will be held at 3:30pm in Jesse Hall 410.
