The Horticulture and Agroforestry Research Center will host a Tomato Day on Thursday, Aug. 1, at the Center in New Franklin. The event will begin at 6 p.m. There will be 10 new tomato trial varieties from Harris Seed Company, along with many other varieties for tasting. Elizabeth Harrison, Howard County engagement specialist, nutrition and health, will demonstrate salsa making and canning. James Quinn, field specialist in horticulture, will host a melon tasting as well.
Admission is free for the event.
