Are you looking for a rewarding way to get involved in your community? Do you like sports and working with kids?

The Special Olympics is an international organization which provides year-round sports training and competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for people 8 years and older with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

You can volunteer in a variety of ways: coaching, assisting with fundraising, organizing events and more. Currently, assistance is needed with bowling, basketball, and swimming/aquatics.

To get involved just reply with what sport you can help with, or you can email directly to Tyler Armstrong with Parks & Rec. We prefer that volunteers commit to helping throughout the season; skill in the sport is desired but not required. Volunteers should be positive and supportive of the athletes!
