The Neighborhood is an open and affirming ministry. Our vision is to question everything, love God, and love neighbor. In The Neighborhood, we want to help you make your faith your own, and we believe the best way to do this is through being honest about our doubts and wrestling with our questions in a faith community.

Crew is our ministry-specific learning time. Each semester students choose our topics. Our current series is Ask me Anything. Students have the opportunity to submit their faith questions and we will go over them as a group. No questions are off limits. We are covering a wide range of questions like, “Why do people assume God was white?”, “Do you think that aliens could have played a part in Mary’s pregnancy and Jesus?”, and “Can God be all-powerful and all-good given the world that we live in?” Crews meet regularly on Wednesday nights @ 6:30 PM in the NBRHD room at Missouri UMC.

All people, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, race, and ability can participate and lead within the Neighborhood. The Neighborhood is a ministry of Missouri United Methodist Church. The United Methodist Church believes in the full equality of women in decision-making and leadership positions at all levels of the church. The Neighborhood is an affirming space, meaning those who identify as LGBTQIA+ are welcome and celebrated as members and leaders.
