Diwali, the festival of lights, most commonly celebrates the return of Sita (incarnation of goddess Lakshmi) and Rama (incarnation of god Vishnu) to their village of Ayodhya after 14 years of exile. Hindus, Sikhs, Jains, Buddhists, and other South Asian groups revere this day with different religious and cultural significance. Come join South Asian Students Association's annual Diwali celebration and learn about how this holiday is celebrated across the sub-continent. Cultural attire encouraged!
