Monday, November 8th is National First-Generation College Celebration Day. Mizzou defines first-generation college as students whose parents do not have a bachelor’s degree from a college or university. Close to 14% of our current students (graduate and undergraduate) are first-generation college students!
Three ways to join the College of Education & Human Development in celebration that day (and beyond):
Stop by the lobby of Townsend Hall on Monday between 9am-11am for coffee and donuts, with special guest appearance by Truman!
If you are first-generation college, consider sharing your story on social media, using #FirstGenMizzou and tagging @MizzouEducation, to inspire the next generation of students to be the first. Everyone who participates via social media from Monday, November 8 through Friday, November 12 will be entered into a drawing for prizes!
Contribute to the Scholarship Fund – all gifts made via the Give Direct page to the Scholarship Fund through the end of the year will be earmarked for our first-generation students. www.mizzou.us/cehd-first-gen
