About this Event
Join us for a professional development seminar featuring serial inventor, entrepreneur and product development engineer Jim Fay, an instructor and chemical engineering alumnus from Iowa State University.
Fay invented Huggies® Baby Wipes and Huggies® Pull-Ups® training pants and was part of the team that developed Huggies® disposable diapers. His credits also include Diaper Genie®, DEUS Rescue™ equipment for firefighters and many others.
Since 2018, Fay has taught “Entrepreneurial Product Development Engineering” in ISU’s College of Engineering, and he recently began teaching a course called “Real-Time Case Study of an Entrepreneurial Startup” in the ISU College of Business.
In addition to teaching, Jim is president of a baby products startup company called Fin & Viola that is majority-owned by some of his former students, and his consulting business helps companies and organizations with product development, creativity, problem-solving and marketing. Fay previously worked for Monsanto, Procter & Gamble, American Can Co. and Kimberly-Clark. He and his wife, Julie, split time between their mountain-top home in Boulder, Colorado, and Ames, Iowa. They are avid tandem-bike riders and ultra-marathon runners.
