Mapping Through... Grad Showcase 2025

Mapping Through… is the 2025 showcase exhibition of MU graduate students in Visual Studies. Our individual maps are varied and dynamic, reflecting the shifting, unsettled realities of the four continents we collectively call home and the internal growth we chart as we embark on intensive explorations in our personal lives and our chosen media. The landmarks of our journeys include significant shapes, shadows, artifacts, ruins, snapshots and screenshots, newsreels, travel documents, and treasured mementos. In this work, we engage with our source material to demarcate new boundaries; dissolve old borders; shape intimate spaces; create dialogue between past, present, and future; and give material form to the ineffable as we navigate the complex terrae incognitae of our own experiences and the unstable ground on which we stand.
