Free Film Screening and Community Conversation of the movie REPRESENT!

 

The Michael A. Middleton Center for Race, Citizenship, and Justice is a communty partner with Ragtag Cinema and will be screening the covie follwed by a commuynity conversation.

 

Film Description: Midwestern women navigating entrenched political networks while running for public office. 22-year-old activist Myya seeks to unseat the incumbent mayor of Detroit through a youth movement. Farmer and mother Bryn runs for Township Trustee in Granville, Ohio, a town that has long been run by a conservative “old boys network.” Korean American Julie runs for State Representative as a Republican in a liberal, Chicago suburb. This screening will be followed by a community conversation led by community partner the Middleton Center for Race, Justice, and Citizenship exploring topics such as civil discourse, navigating conflict, and social difference.

Please note that FREE tickets for the public will be available at the Ragtag Box Office starting Thursday, October 24 at 12PM. 

 

No more than four free tickets will be given to one person.A free ticket guarantees you a seat until 10 minutes before showtime and not after. If all tickets have been distributed and there are open seats at 10 till, we will start seating the theater from the waiting list (queue). Ticket holders will continue to be admitted at this time if seats are available. This policy allows us to start on time and give the audience a distraction-free experience.
