Mizzou ASM goals are to:

-Promote student interest in microbiology.

-Promote careers and further education in microbiology.

-Teach students how to find, read, and critically evaluate scientific literature.

-Promote student participation in local, state, and national ASM meetings and activities including ABRCMS.

-Promote and explain the benefits and value of ASM membership to students, postdocs, and early career scientists at the University of Missouri-Columbia.

-Promote K-12 student interest in microbiology.

-Provide aid and professional development opportunities for students at the University of Missouri-Columbia interested in careers in microbiology with respect to academic curriculum, research, employment, and graduate school admissions.
