Often a favorite memory of law students, "Battle of the Gavel" is the Annual Softball Tournament hosted by the Student Bar Association ("SBA"). The all-day event is hosted at Albert-Oakland Ballpark (1900 Blue Ridge Rd, Columbia, MO 65202). It includes a BBQ lunch, lawn games, open basketball courts, open tennis courts, t-shirts, refreshments, and more. The tournament consists of eight teams of 10–12 Mizzou Law students, faculty, and staff. During lunch, Mizzou Law's scholarly journal members Battle it out on the field in their mini-tournament full of bragging rights and camaraderie.
