Mizzou Mandarin, a program of the MU Confucius Institute, offers an opportunity for all MU undergraduates, graduates, faculty, staff and community members to deepen their understanding of another language and culture and to strengthen intercultural communications at the University of Missouri.

 

This program is based on the ideas below:

A.        Free of charge. You don’t have to pay a penny for this program. It's totally free.

B.         Free speaking. You can discuss freely on topics of language and culture.

C.        During free time. The class time is scheduled during extracurricular time, usually on Wednesday evenings.

 

Mizzou Mandarin offers standard Chinese language and Chinese culture, offered and supported by the Confucius Institute at the University of Missouri.

 

Three levels of instruction are offered:

Level 1 is for those who have no learning experience in Chinese, beginners.

Level 2 is designed for those who have some learning experience in Chinese.  It is designed to help improve the understanding of both Chinese language and culture.

Level 3 is aimed at those who are proficient to a certain extent, and have studied Chinese for a couple of years or more.  This level strives to further develop the participants’ Chinese language skills and cultural knowledge to a higher level.

 

Dates & Location

Mizzou Mandarin classes for the Fall 2017 semester will be held on Wednesdays, beginning on Sept. 13 and will end on Dec. 6, 2017.  Classes will be held each Wednesday (except Fall Break) from 7:00 - 8:30pm .The locations for Mizzou Mandarin classes will be as following:

            Level 1:         Arts & Science 201

            Level 2:         Arts & Science 202

            Level 3:         Arts & Science 203
