MizzouForward Keynote – Design of organic solid-state materials for applications in advanced materials and health

January 31st | 10:00am – 11:00am

201 Schlundt Hall

Join us for “Design of organic solid-state materials for applications in advanced materials and health" a keynote presentation by College of Arts & Science – Chemistry, MizzouForward faculty candidate, Dr. Kristin Hutchins.  Dr. Hutchins will present on her research for approximately 40-minutes with a 20-minute question and answer session to follow.

Dr. Kristin Hutchins is currently an Associate Professor of Chemistry at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX.  Dr. Hutchins earned her B.S. and Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Iowa, Iowa City, IA.

Dr. Hutchins’ research focuses on designing and synthesizing materials by using supramolecular chemistry strategies to achieve desirable properties. Her group focuses on controlling the response of materials to changes in temperature, improving properties and processes in pharmaceuticals, and design of materials that capture rare earth elements.
