Lung Cancer Molecular Testing

The seminar will:
•    Outline the clinical implications of tumor testing strategies for patients with lung cancer, including comprehensive genomic profiling, hotspot analysis, tissue and liquid biopsies
•    Identify the role of multidisciplinary teams in facilitation and implementation of molecular testing in oncology care settings
•    Assess methods to overcome barriers to personalized medicine and increase molecular testing, tumor boards, and clinical trial referral in the community setting
•    Apply available molecular testing to develop evidence-based individualized treatment decisions for cancer patients
•    Review recent advancements in comprehensive genomic profiling for advanced lung cancer
•    Discuss potential applications of liquid biopsy for patients with advanced lung cancer

Dr. Richard Hammer is highly trained hematopathologist/surgical pathologist with extensive experience and a focus on providing state-of-the-art diagnosis and evaluation using the latest evidence-based medicine. His lab provides high-level service in hematopathology, flow cytometry, coagulation, and molecular diagnostics in hematology. He also is involved in bioinformatics and developing tools to apply digital solutions to clinical practice and clinical decision support.
