About this Event
View map Free Event Add to calendarWomen of Color (WOC) feminisms, methodologies, and pedagogies offer ways to honor the onto-epistemologies (worldviews and ways of being), memories, and experiences of Pre-Service Teachers of Color (PSTOC). Centering Black, Indigenous and, student of Color onto-epistemologies is thus central to anti-colonial, anti-racist, and transformative efforts of curricula and pedagogical practices in teacher education. This presentation draws from a research project with Women of Color Pre-Service Teachers (WOCPST) and their experiences in a teacher education program at a Hispanic Serving Institution. Through their testimonio-pláticas, these WOCPST illuminate the possibilities to (re)envision teacher education for PSTOC at a Hispanic Serving Institution.
