As the stories in our classroom are changing, how are we changing the way we teach stories?Drawing on four years of classroom data elementary, middle, and high school classrooms in Missouri, Dr. Zapata, will share how (1) teachers' critical stance, (2) literature-based instruction, (3) translingual and transmodal literature response invitaions, and (4) navigating critical encounters afford transformative possibilities for justice-oriented literature in children's and youth's hands.
