Access can mean a range of different things in a classroom space, from workplace and testing accommodations to student preparedness and the hidden curriculum. In this interactive workshop, instructors will first explore the different forms of access that should be considered when creating an inclusive classroom environment. Participants will then consider how active learning and classroom participation can impact student access. Not all forms of participation will accommodate the diverse needs of students, so we will discuss strategies for overcoming these challenges. Coming together with other instructors, participants are welcome to share tips they have used in the past while exploring strategies that they can easily implement in the future.
