About this Event

More than a year after Russia's invasion of Ukraine, many people around the world still have very little understanding of the context of this war. Many unwittingly gather information from sources that draw on propaganda narratives spread by Russia over the many decades prior. In this presentation, Ukrainian students at Mizzou will provide insight into Ukrainian history and demonstrate the relationships between Kyiv and Moscow starting from the 20th century.
Panelists:
- Alissa Skorik (communication) is an ethnic Ukrainian who moved to Missouri from Canada.
- Nadiia Salakh (math and statistics) was born in Yemen before moving to Kherson, Ukraine, at a young age.
-
Vlad Sazhen (aerospace engineering) is a Ukrainian transfer student who came to Missouri in January 2022 and stayed because of the Russian invasion.
