Racial Capitalism and Human Migration in the History of St. Louis

This presentation seeks to build upon and advance work done on the history of racial capitalism in North America. In it, Johnson argues that much of North American history has been framed by imperial, capitalist, and racist histories that are organically related but not identical to one another.  Using examples drawn from the history of St. Louis, he suggests the role of migration and forced removal in shaping the limits of the present.
